This metal enclosure for recessed bathroom exhaust fans is acceptable for use in typical wood frame construction for floor/ceiling and roof/ceiling fire-rated assemblies. It is engineered, tested, and listed compliant as an alternative to a radiation damper as a 1-hour fire-rated enclosure.

Manufactured with 24-gauge galvanized sheet metal for use with fire-rated recessed bathroom exhaust fans to ensure passive fire protection.
Approved for use where radiation dampers are unacceptable for exhaust fan penetrations. Notice UL555C Radiation
Damper no longer automatically qualifies for use in combustible assemblies (wood joist, wood trusses). The recessed exhaust fan must pass both UL 555C and ASTM E119 / UL 263 Fire resistance rating test when installed in a fire rated assembly.
